About the Project Regional Research Frameworks have been developed for many regions of England since they were first proposed in the  1996 English Heritage publication Frameworks for our Past and conventionally comprise the following three stages:  Assessment:  synthesis of the current state of knowledge Agenda:  identification of gaps in our knowledge and key research questions Strategy:  proposals for tackling research questions identified in the Agenda This document builds upon the Assessment and Agenda published in 2006 in The Archaeology of the East Midlands.
